Tomato Art Fest

It's almost time! Am I ready? Not quite, but almost...
I'll have a booth located in the parking lot across from Bongo East- where Alley Cat used to be- and I 'll be there 10:00 am till sundown (8:30 ish). You will not believe how dang big this thing has gotten!

Tomato Work...

is still hanging at Art & Invention. Here are my pieces; they ended up being just straight-forward tomatoes, no clever interpretation.

Toe-May-Toe, Tah-Mah-Toe

This is how my garden grows: bright green, pretty, slightly weedy, bearing blooms and fruits! Marigolds to keep the bugs away, a mix of annuals for color, oregano, bell pepper, chili pepper, tomatoes, etc... it's a small but diverse garden!
Speaking of tomatoes, the 5th Annual Tomato Art Fest is fast approaching; it's quite the shindig in East Nashville on August 9th. If you haven't heard of this fun, free, costume friendly event this kind of sums it up:
"
About me:
The 5th Annual Tomato Art Fest will be August 9, 2008. It's a fun, free, and costume-friendly event in the heart of Historic East Nashville. Spread the word to your friends! Tell your songwriting friends! Tell your artist friends! Tell Tomato Lovers and Haters! Tell EVERYBODY! And Remember our motto... The Tomato... a uniter, not a divider - bringing together fruits and vegetables."

Now Hanging at the Family Wash!

This afternoon I hung my new show at the Family Wash in East Nashville. Family Wash ladies Jami and Mandy were there this afternoon; they were super helpful and accomodating while I put up my 13 pieces. All but one are paintings that I have never shown before, so I'm really curious about the response they'll get. Will everyone else like my new series as much as I do? I guess I'll find out! F. W. owner Jamie has generously invited me to hang this month, as well as the month of December.
